El avestruz (Struthio camelus) es un estrutiónido y la más grande y pesada de las aves. Lo particular de esta imagen es el comportamiento atípico , ya que son dos machos (machos negros con puntas de las alas blancas mientras que las hembras son pardo-grisáceas), y se puede observar como un macho está cortejando al otro mediante esa posición en el suelo moviendo exageradamente las alas mientras oscilan el cuello, y momentos antes el otro macho también estaba cortejando al otro. Sin duda, un raro comportamiento.

El alimoche sombrío o buitre encapuchado (Necrosyrtes monachus) es un buitre de la familia Accipitridae perteneciente al grupo de buitres del Viejo Mundo, con un aspecto inconfundible, con ese color negro y plumaje denso en la cabeza, cuya forma con el pico alargado recuerda a la del alimoche.
