El serval (Leptailurus serval) es un felino de pequeño tamaño con unas adaptaciones muy interesantes, posee un cuello y orejas largos para poder ver por encima de la hierba de la sabana, unas patas muy largas y una cola acortada, esto es debido a que es un animal que caza saltando, pudiendo saltar hasta 3,5m horizontalmente desde posición estática, y hasta 3 metros de altura. Posee un color pajizo con motas negras como adaptación mimética a su entorno como en el caso de los guepardos.

Se distribuye por África subsahariana (la subespecie al norte está probablemente extinta).
The serval (Leptailurus serval) is a small feline with very interesting adaptations, it has a long neck and ears to be able to see over the grass of the savanna, very long legs and a shortened tail, this is because it is an animal that hunts by jumping, being able to jump up to 3.5m horizontally from a static position, and up to 3 meters high. It has a straw color with black specks as mimetic adaptation to its environment as in the case of cheetahs.
